In early 2011, Ignacio Izquierdo a.k.a EliaLiut released his first EP entitled "Complacency." Born in Quito, Ecuador in 1986, he lived abroad for many years due to his father's career as a diplomat. He is a singer/songwriter and self-taught guitarist, who has played in various indie rock bands in the past, such as: Turnover (Rome, Italy), Botelia (Quito, Ecuador) and Motozen (Quito, Ecuador).
Elia Liut was the name of the first pilot to fly over the Ecuadorian territory in the 1920s. "I want to keep his name alive. I like to think it's a way of recycling history," he states in an interview with EcuadorTimes.
In June of 2011, EliaLiut interpreted a song for a Sony commercial that has been broadcasted throughout Latin America.
He recorded his second album "Live Sessions EP" with a side band in an abandoned house near Ecuador's capital city.
He presently lives in Seattle.
